This how to make a baby shower invitation is just my way of having some fun because I do enjoy creating my own things. There are so many different a unique ways to make them, so I decided to add my design too. Below this post is the how to make you own baby shower invitation video that I had made to help anyone to see how I accomplished it.
I was going to have a baby shower for one of my daughters and wanted to make it extra special for her. I love making my own invitations for different occasions, so I thought why not show others how to make a baby shower invitation video. Maybe some of you might enjoy doing the same.
After I finished my baby shower invitation, of course I sent them out to all who where invited and one to my expecting daughter. She knew she was having baby shower and I couldn’t wait to see what she had to say about the invitation. I felt so good about designing my own and hoped she would like it as well. When she received it she called me on the phone and was so happy and excited about the how to make a baby shower invitation I sent her. Being very emotional at this time of her life, she cried on the phone, saying how special I made her feel. Its a great time in someones life when they are already blessed with something so special that this topped the cake for her.
I don’t know about you, but making someone feel extra special makes me feel great inside. Make Your Own Book Cover is actually a lot of fun. Especially when its time to design the front cover.
I remember when I was a kid and old enough to learn how to do my own. My mom had 8 children, so there were many books to be covered and she would show us how as we reached the age to understand. Can you even imagine covering 6 to 7 books times 8 kids, that’s “56” books. So I guess learning to do it ourselves saved my mom a whole lot of time. LOL
Using good old brown paper bags from the supermarket is the best book cover I know. They do have these material book covers and I have bought them for my own kids, but they just don’t seem to do the trick. They aren’t as good as the sturdy brown bag. At least to me there not, plus it gives our kids the feeling that they did something great on there own. Its now their responsibility to care for their own books. The other reason is we do not have to spend more money, brown bags are free. LOL
I think the best part about Make Your Own Book Cover is once you cover your book, you then can design the front cover anyway they would like. Again, your kids will feel accomplished because its their art work at work.
Make your own book cover is very easy to do and I added my video below because viewing how to make it is much easier than writing down instructions.
I tried to make it as visual as I could and I hope you will feel the same. I decided to write this post thinking maybe there where some people who were not sure how to go about it.
Make your own book cover can be used for all types of books and besides using the brown paper bag you can also use mailing paper and wallpaper ( not the pre-pasted kind).
Materials needed:
Brown paper bag – Supermarket bag
Scissors
Masking and scotch/transparent tape (like when you wrap a gift)
Aluminum foil – ( silver wrapping you use to wrap a sandwich or cover a roasting pan)
Markers/Colored pencils
As I have said Make Your own Book Cover is a lot of fun and the great thing is as the cover gets worn down and starts to rip here and there, you can just make another one when its time to do so.
I have even went to the wallpaper store and picked up a few heavier wallpaper rolls that were on clearance and was able to cover many books with from it. I look for cool designs that kids would like but also found a few for myself. I used them to cover some of my favorite cookbooks that I did not want to get ruined while I was cooking. I can be a little messy at times when I am in a rush. LOL
You can cover any book you want and the brown paper bag will big enough for most school books. As the new school year approaches I save up my brown paper bags to make sure I have plenty for the new books that have to be covered.
